The Workforce Development Strategies Group works closely with policymakers in Washington, and at the state and local levels, on issues related to workforce development. We provide Members of Congress, officials from the Administration, and others with information and experiences they can use to improve workforce development systems nationwide. At the request of Members of Congress and their staff, we provide input, educational advocacy, and technical assistance on issues of importance to the workforce investment system and its customers, informed by our research and our work with the Consortia and other partners.
NCEE is uniquely positioned given our state and local consortia, relationships with other national organizations involved in workforce policy, international connections, and experienced professional staff to manage this exchange of ideas and lessons learned among the key policy leaders. Our goal in the policy area is to provide officials with high quality information, experiences, and access to networks that help them understand the progress and challenges in the evolving workforce development system. Our activities give policymakers ready access to the most knowledgeable people in the workforce development field; provide timely information on important research findings and carefully chosen practical experience; and offer regular opportunities for bipartisan discussion among policy and workforce leaders.
