The mission of NCEE's Workforce Development Strategies Group (WDSG) is to provide policymakers, states, localities, and others the advice and assistance needed to build comprehensive workforce development systems that meet the needs of America's workers, jobseekers, and employers. The WDSG is composed of a small, elite staff engaged in strategic planning, policy development, and providing technical assistance for U.S. and other workforce investment systems. We help states and regions align their workforce, education, economic and community development activities, and assets to promote high-growth, high-wage, and high-employment economies. We review and advise on public policies, analyze trends, evaluate best practices, and, often with key partners, provide technical assistance to implement workforce development policies that improve U.S. competitiveness.
