As one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit organizations, ACT, Inc. has dedicated the past 50 years to working with schools, districts, and states to develop and install systemic solutions for increasing the college and career readiness of our nations’ students. ACT’s ground-breaking research on a wide range of education and workforce issues, coupled with our multifaceted collaborations with education, policy, and thought leaders, has led to the development of a curriculum-based, comprehensive, and integrated system of programs and educator tools—including QualityCore that provide educators with practical solutions that foster student success.
In partnership with the nation’s leading educators, QualityCore is designed to increase the quality and intensity of 12 core high school courses in English, mathematics, the sciences and U.S. History. After a thorough analysis of student’s college and career readiness trends, ACT saw the need for a large scale instructional improvement effort—one that infuses rigor into the curriculum and exposes students to college and career-ready content.
Instead of a specialized, limited curriculum, QualityCore offers five flexible, highly aligned components to better support local curricula and instructional methods:
- Instructional Resources
- Test Builder
- End-of-Course Assessment
- Score Reports and Progress Reporting
- Professional Development
