| High-quality, sustained professional development tailored for districts or schools: |
| |
- District packages include nine days of training for up to 30 people, including a summer seminar and continuing with follow-up sessions during the school year. Optional on-site technical assistance, coaching, and follow-up for participating teachers, principals, and/or program coordinators is recommended for districts as well.
- School packages include five days of on-site training for three or more people, including a summer seminar and continuing with follow-up sessions during the school year, plus three days of technical assistance. Training is targeted to meet school needs.

| Teachers receive solid grounding in the skills and knowledge they need to teach this course. They also learn about the latest research on effective mathematics instruction. They study video examples of Ramp-Up Mathematics in action; they participate in full simulations of daily lessons; and they have many opportunities to discuss and reflect on their own classes and students’ progress. Trainers take special care to foster a learning community. An online learning community with direct access to America’s Choice mathematics specialists provides support between workshops. |

- A Concept Book for the course that describes in detail the math concepts students should learn to be successful in algebra and beyond. Teachers and students use the Concept Book as a reference in the course. The Concept Book includes visual explanations, and explains concepts in multiple ways.
- A comprehensive assessment program with quizzes, end-of-unit assessments, class profiles, and periodic reporting to show growth and areas that need work. Ramp-Up Mathematics assessments measure basic skills, problem solving, and understanding of key math concepts, enabling teachers to tailor instruction to students’ needs.
- A CD with a brief video discussion of each unit, handouts, and overheads that can be used to illustrate concepts.
