Ms. Kraemer currently directs a project aimed at strengthening alternative education programs for young people. Ms. Kraemer managed the development of a new standards-based curriculum for the GED literacy and mathematics tests. Previously, she has worked on state workforce development policy and has done research on international skill standards and training systems. Before joining the National Center’s Workforce Development Strategies Group, she worked on child and family policy with the Harvard Family Research Project, directed operations for a community school program in West Philadelphia and researched youth apprenticeship for the International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
